Sophie and Lee decided to have a religious ceremony in their local church (Church of our lady of the immaculate conception, Birkenhead) and then had their reception at the lovely Little Fox, a pub in the stunning Cheshire countryside.
I was photographing this wedding as a second shooter for Make Life Memorable photography, and we started the morning prep at Sophie's house, which was one of the most relaxed and enjoyable ones I have experienced this year, lots of laughter, smiles all around, no anxiety in sight.
Lee had literal sparkles in his eyes when he saw his bride coming down the aisle, and during the ceremony they exchanged so many cute little looks that it was really lovely to see two people so madly in love celebrating their union in such a beautiful frame.
Sophie had planned the wedding in all the details and the cake had been baked by a friend, so to say I was impressed at the gorgeous decor when we arrived at the Little Fox is an understatement. The candles, the blossom trees, the florals at the tables, everything was just perfect and backlit gorgeously by the summer sun.
Lee's speech made us cry hard and laugh hard, and this is a wedding where you could really feel how deep the friendships and connections between people are, there was a lovely positive energy in every space, and everybody had a great time.
Side note, the Little Fox's food is to die for.
The afternoon slid into the evening, and we shot some really beautiful backlit portraits as the band was setting up, and then they cut the cake laughing their heads off and the dancefloor filled up very quickly and the moves flowed.
A beautiful day full of beautiful people.
