About me
Hi, I'm Alessandra. Visual artist,
deep thinker & big dreamer.
I have not always had the chance to express myself as a visual artist, and now that at last I can, I identify as a photographer more than anything else.
Being half Italian and half Welsh, I have both Mediterranean and Celtic roots, which explains my eclectic spirit and why I don't really fit into set boxes too much. I want everything all the time, and I always want to be everywhere!
I grew up in Italy but now live in the beautiful and inspiring North Wales with my partner Ritchie and my two dogs, Skye and Freyja.
I am a very visual person and love everything to do with creativity. The first time I picked up a serious camera was in 2009, and since then, the dream of being a professional photographer grew and grew, until I could not contain it anymore and I just had to give it a go and give myself that chance to be happy.
Photography has led me to places I could have never imagined, but most of all, it has taken me to beautiful people. The connections I have built photographing people are some of the best I have ever made in my life.
Being photographed is a deeply personal experience, you are letting somebody in to represent your world, and it is an absolute honour and joy for me to do it. It is happiness to let you see yourself with new eyes, and recognise how incredible you are, even if sometimes you might not think so.
I may be a lot for some people, I am perhaps very Italian in this. I talk a lot, I open up very easily, as my partner always likes to tell me, I wear my heart on my sleeve. I am an open book.
So I may be too much for some people, and that's ok.
But if you like me, we'll be friends for life.
A free spirit, nature lover, and hopeless romantic!
I love being immersed in nature and taking long walks in the woods, which is the only type of meditation that I am successful at.
I struggle to stay in the same place for long periods of time and one of my toxic traits is that if you invite me on a trip there is a 99.9% chance I will come along, which means I am often sleep deprived, but for good reason!!! One of my dreams is to retire to Tuscany to a villa in the countryside and live there for the rest of my days.
I also have a completely separate career in veterinary medicine. I owe a lot to my vet days. They have given me resilience, determination, drive, patience, and compassion, and obviously I bloody love animals.
